HBU applies to rejoin NCAA division 1 athletics

The Soccer Hour HBU LogoThe Houston Baptist University Huskies have applied to re-join the NCAA and division 1 Athletics.
This is a huge development for the sport of soccer where currently only SMU has men’s division 1 soccer.
In a soccer rich state like Texas it is hard to believe we only have one division 1 mens soccr program .
The move to re-join the NCAA will get HBU additionally visibility and Mens Soccer will stand to gain.
What a great development from Ron Cottrell the Athletic Director and HBU President Robert B Sloan.
Time for Rice , UT, UH and Texas Am to get some vision and get men’s division 1 soccer.
Enough of the hiding behind gender equity. International universities need the most international of sports to truly take the title of an international institution. Way to go HBU you are leading the way!
