Real Madrid beaten at Bernabeu while Inter Milan extends streak

Filed under: Uncategorized — glenndavis @ 5:11 pm

The Soccer Hour David BeckhamRecreativo knocked off giants Real Madrid on the road at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium 3-0 today.
Now clearly a Fabio Capello influence has been felt by the ‘Galacticos’ but this defeat bordered on embarrassing.
Goals from Pongolle 35th, Uche 52nd, and a stunning free kick from Viqueira in the 90th minute sealed the win on a day of mourning for Recreativo who lost three supporters in a bus crash.
In Italy Inter Milan defeated Lazio 2-0 behind goals from Esteban Cambiasso and Marco Materazzi for their fifth consecutive shutout as they remain atop of the Serie A. They did it with ten men following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s second yellow card and sending off.
Locally Davey Arnaud of Nederland and the Kansas City Wizards got the phone call to come into U.S. National team camp but impending surgery on his knee has cost him his chance this time.
Arnaud still had the time along with other MLs players to visit the Texas Childrens Hospital with me today.
Now that is class.

  1. Well Real Madrid played with no hunger at all against a recently promoted team.
and Capello brought on and during the course of the match played with the worst formation for the team. the team lacked creativity in the midfield, hopefully the recently acquired Gago can and should help.
why go with the dual striker system when it hasnt worked for your team at all. im so furious at such a lack of attempt, as a huge Real fan.
but oh well, it isnt the end of a season!

  3. MLS Players are the best when it comes to community service. It might be because most of them aren’t yet caught up in being a “celebrity,” but I just think our guys are awesome. I got to work in the Dynamo Community Relations office this summer, and our players were always more than willing to make appearances and be active in the community. These guys (especially guys like Craig Waibel, Pat Onstad, and Kelly Gray) really are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.
